Footsteps Childcare Inc. understands that all children are uniquely diverse and develop at their own individual rate. Therefore, Footsteps’ mission is to provide each child who enters through our doors, a comprehensive, developmentally appropriate early learning experience in a stimulating, safe, trusting and nurturing environment. An early learning experience that will also be the foundation for life long learning.

Footsteps offers the following programs, a day nursery for ages 6 weeks through 2 years, and a preschool for ages 2 to 6 years. Footsteps is designed to alleviate many of the stresses parents encounter in locating quality child care services. The center offers a flexible extended day program from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., seven days a week, in order to accommodate the non-traditional work schedules for some families within the Bushwick and Bedford - Stuyvesant areas of Brooklyn. This will allow parents to tailor their child’s school days to fit their family needs, and although we are not a barrier site, we do accept special children. Child care services utilize a curriculum that is developmentally appropriate which recognizes that young children learn best in environments that stimulate curiosity, exploration, creative thinking and problem solving capabilities.

Your child will be enriched by a multicultural curriculum, The children and staff will come from various backgrounds. The atmosphere will be conducive to learning with an emphasis on communication and mutual respect. A typical day at Footsteps will include breakfast, lunch snacks, small and large group activities, outdoor activities if the weather permits, rest time and free play. Story time and song's will expand children's exposure to our nurturing environment. We place a great emphasis on social skills and your child will learn to identify and express emotions. We thrive to provide a rich varied environment that will offer a sense of security. At footsteps the environment will be one that develops a child's sense of purpose through curiosity, creativity, persistence and autonomy. These attributes will assist to facilitate a child's impact on society.
